Sometimes Apple Burns Me
Though, in this case they don’t.
I just bought a spify new DVD burner with LaserScribe. It burns 16x DVDs, then you flip them over and it burns a professional lable right on the disc using the same laser. I bought it for a few DVD projects I’m working on in Apple’s iMovie and iDVD.
But guess what. Apple, being the geniuses they are, programmed iDVD to only work with internal DVD burners that you can buy, get this, only from Apple and only if you buy a whole new system.
Since I’m not about to buy a whole new damn computer, I did a little surfing and came up with this fix here. Genius.
Just download this file, uncompress it and place the two files in your root home directory. When you go to click the burn button in iDVD, hold down the “control” key. A menu will pop up that will ask where you want to burn.
Now I can finish my projects and start selling them.
